Probate And Trust Administration
Probate is the legal process of administering the estate of a deceased person, including paying or otherwise resolving all claims and distributing the remaining property of the deceased person to the beneficiaries named in the decedent’s will or, if decedent died without a will, to those individual’s entitled to receive the property pursuant to Ohio law. The estate is administered by a fiduciary appointed by the Probate Court, ordinarily the individual named by the decedent in their will or an heir of the decedent if there is no will. We provide guidance to the fiduciary in the fiduciary’s administration of the estate, and to the trustee in the case of a trust, including collecting the assets of the estate, preparing an inventory for the Court, receiving and paying claims of the estate, distributing property to beneficiaries and preparing an accounting for the Court.
